Biharvan is a very special Vrindavan forest. Biharvan means ‘the forest of enjoyment.’ It is one of the places of Radha and Krsna’s most charming and loving pastimes. There is also a large gosala of cows who are protected, served and loved by the local cowherd men. It was a unique experience because the forest has been preserved much like it was hundreds of years ago.
Badrinath (Badrikasrama) is 2 hour drive from Vrindavan through the countryside. As one approached Badrinath we were surprised to see a small mountain range. The beauty of the surrounding area was stunning!
Madan Mohan Temple, established by Sanatana Goswami, was the first temple to be erected in Vrindavan on the order of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu 500 years ago. Near the temple is the sacred samadhi of Sanatana Goswami.
Akrura Ghat is at border line between Vrindavan & Mathura. Pilgrimage to Sri Vrindavana Dhama
Before entering the the sacred drama of Sri Vrindavan, one must take permission from one of five divine personalities; Gopiswara Mahadeva, Yamuna devi, Vrinda devi, Govardhan Hill or Vraja-renu, the dust of Vrindavan.
The people and places of Sri Vrindavan Dhama are superior to any other holy places in the universe. All holy places find their origin in Vrindavan. All glories to Sri Vrindavan Dhama!
At Chir Ghat the playful pastime of Krishna stealing the clothes of the Gopis took place.
At village Bhaya Gaon, there is lake called Prahlada Kunda. Local villagers hold a festival in honor of Prahlada Maharaja there each year, appreciating his love and devotion for the Lord. During the festival, they burn an effigy of Holika, who was Hiranyakasipu's sister. She was involved in trying to kill the saintly Prahlada, but because of that offense, she perished.
At Kamyavan is the beautiful reddish coloured Deity of Sri Vrinda-devi which was worshipped by Srila Rupa Goswami 500 years ago. Nearby at Dharma-kunda Maharaja Yudhisthira answered to Yamaraja’s 10 questions.
Kamyavan signifies the forest that fulfils all spiritual desires. It is rich with the history of Vedic culture. Here the deity of Vrindadevi was worshipped by Srila Rupa Goswami. Her presence in Kamyavan attracts many thousands of devotees each year.
Superexcellent Sri Radha-kunda stands supreme, for it is overflooded with the ambrosial nectarean prema of the Lord of Gokula, Sri Krishna. Where, then, is that intelligent Person who is unwilling to serve this divine Radha-kunda, which is situated at the foot of Govardhana Hill? (Sri Upadesamrita, verse 9)

Along with Her gopi maidservants She would traverse the wooded forests of Varsana as they went to the market to sell their milk products - sometimes meeting Her beloved Krishna along the way. One of Her favorite forests still exists to this very day with ancient “desire trees” still dotting the landscape.
Village of Dauji, named after the presiding deity of the town, Dauji. Dauji means "the older brother" and is a name for Lord Balaram, Lord Krishna's older brother.
Beautiful & ornate Sri Madan Mohan was the first temple to be constructed in Vrindavan. The temple is situated on a small hill overlooking the Yamuna river & surrounding plains. Srila Sanatana Gosvami worshiped Sri Madan Mohan.

Visit to Varsana & Raval on Radhastami
Govardhana Hill is 25 kms from Vrindavana. Here amazing transcendental pastime took place of Lord Krishna lifting the Govardhana Hill for 7 days on His little finger, thus protecting the inhabitants of Vraja from wrath of Indra.
A documentary on the Glories of Govardhan Hill by HH Bhakti Caitanya Swami Vedic scriptures proclaim that the glories of Lord Krishna are unlimited & eternal and no one is able to reach the end of them. In the same way, who can fully describe the splendid glories of Sri Giriraja-Govardhana, the best servant of the Lord and at the same time non-different from the Lord Himself!
To protect his dear Vrajavasis from Indra's wrath, Sri Krishna held the Hill on the small finger of His divine hand for seven days. The area of Govardhan is full of wonderful forests, lakes, caves, waterfalls, jeweled paths, platforms and pavilions. Lord's most intimate pastimes' places - Sri Radha-kunda and Sri Syama-kunda are located at the foot of the Hill.
"Of all the devotees this Govardhana Hill is the best! Or my friends this Hill supplies Krishna and Balarama, along with their calves, cows and cowherd friends, with all the necessities: water for drinking, very soft grass, caves, fruits, flowers and vegetables. In this way the Hill offers respects to the Lord. Being touched by the lotus feet of Krishna and Balarama, the hill appears very jubilant". (SB 10.21.18)
Holy place known as Mathura is spiritually superior to Vaikuntha, the transcendental world, because the Lord appeared there. Superior to Mathura is the transcendental forest of Vrindavana because of Krishna's rasa-lila pastimes. And superior to the forest of Vrindavana is Govardhana Hill, for it was raised by the divine hand of Sri Krishna & was the site of His various loving pastimes.
